It Must Get Finished

Good morning, Readers!

Good lord, I am running behind on all things. My apologies. I owe the Starlings an extra blog post, which I couldn't get done last week. I will probably have something for you on Saturday. Hopefully.

This week will be devoted to getting my head back into writing. I would very much like to get this series finished. This week I'll be reading what I've written, and compare that to what has been percolating in my brain since I stepped back from writing (again). I'm a bit nervous about it. It might just be that I'll have to scrap what I've written and start from scratch.

I hope not. I have just over 60 000 words. It would be an awful shame to scrap it and start again. But I'll do it if that's what must be done.

I do appreciate your patience with this. I'm also very glad that I have The New Haven Incident currently being published for you to read while you wait for my next actual publication (The Lioness of Shara Mountain) which is a couple of years away yet.

Once that one is done and out in the world, I'd really love to have the next one lined up and ready to go. In this case, the next three. I have no intention of publishing the first book of a series without having the entire thing at least written in rough before publishing the first. I want to make sure that those who love the series will get to enjoy it in full.

Which of course, might be a bit tricky. If the first book doesn't sell well, it's entirely possible that the the series will be dropped, and those who loved the first won't be left stranded if the first book doesn't perform well. I'm not exactly a best seller for my publisher.

Things in life have been going on much the same as before, but I just feel so busy that by the time the weekend rolls around, I'm so tired I just can't work on what needs to be done for trying to create my career (you know, the things I need to do in order to build my career as a writer/creative), so I can not go to the office every day for too many hours and exhaust myself, so I can have the energy to do what needs to be done... on and on.

Alright, no more complaining. I'm sorry I didn't have the extra blog post this week. I'll write two for this week or next, so the Starlings have not really missed out. I have to go do work and stuff now.

Slán go foill!
